Best Homemade Hair Masks

Homemade hair masks are the healthiest things to put on your hair because you aren't putting any gross chemicals in your hair. These are a few of my favorites that I have tried. I've also learned some of these from my mom and she is a retired cosmetologist so she knows hair.

Beer Mask

Believe it or not beer is amazing for your hair. I use beer on my hair at least once a week, it makes my hair silky soft and very shiny. Basically all you have to do is wet your hair while you’re in the shower. Next, pour about a can or 2 (depending on the length of your hair) of any kind of beer you have all over you’re hair. After letting the beer soak in your hair for about 5 to 10 minutes, rinse and shampoo like normal and you’re done.

Egg mask + Olive oil

I absolutely love this mask; I use this mask on my hair about once a month. First, whisk about 2-3 eggs (depending on the length of your hair) and a few tablespoons of olive oil together. Next, wet your hair and slowly massage the mask into your hair. I recommend wrapping plastic wrap around your hair. Also, apply the mask in the shower or over a sink because it’s a little messy. Leave the mask on for about 30 minutes. Finally, rinse very well with cool water and shampoo and condition like always. Also honey may be substituted for the eggs.

Mayo Mask

This is a very easy and simple mask because all you need is any kind of mayonnaise. All you have to do is apply the mayonnaise evenly through out your hair and leave it on for half an hour. Then, rinse off the entire mask in cool water and shampoo. You may also add olive oil or plain yogurt if you would like.

Avocado/Banana/Honey

This is my all time favorite! First, mash the banana and avocado in a small bowl. Next, stir in the honey and apply the mixture from roots to tips. Let the mask sit for about 30 minutes then rinse well and shampoo.

Hot Oil Mask

I’m sure you all have heard of this one, it’s great for hair growth. Heat some olive oil or coconut oil over the stove or in the microwave; make sure the oil isn't too hot, just warm. Next, massage the hot oil all over the scalp, continue to massage for 5-10 minutes. Let the oil sit for about 15 minutes, then rinse and shampoo very well. You may have to shampoo twice to remove the oils from your hair if your hair is naturally oily.

Try them out and tell me what you think below! What's your favorite mask? Comment Below :) XOXO
